Dear Leaders:
Those present at the Legislative Meeting we conducted after our Annual Breakfast on Feb 6 will recall the discussion regarding the formulation of a NYSPEC Mental Health and Wellness Committee. This ad hoc committee will be chaired by NYSPEC Co-Chair Tommy Shevlin, president of the Nassau County PBA.
We asked anyone who would be interested in serving on the committee to contact Tommy, and he has been receiving calls from members offering to volunteer. In furtherance of our goal to get this committee up-and-running, we are once again seeking volunteers to address this subject of ever-increasing importance.
If you are interested in becoming a part of the committee, please contact Tommy as soon as practicable via email – tshevlin@nassaupba.org – to add your name.Tommy will schedule a meeting at the offices of the Nassau PBA in Plainview within the next few weeks; those who may be unable to attend in person will be accommodated virtually.
Tommy has led the charge on this issue, and I can think of no one better to chair this important committee. He has dedicated an enormous amount of time on this issue, and I am grateful that he has agreed to serve as chair.
In Unity,
Peter D. Meringolo
Chairman
