Dear Leader:
As the annual meeting/convention of the New York State Public Employee Conference fast approaches, I remind you that this is an election year for the entire NYSPEC Board of Officers. The Board of Officers comprises: Chairman, seven Co-Chairmen, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, and three Trustees.
Nominations will be conducted during the first general session on Monday, December 9, 2024 and the election will take place at the second general session on Tuesday, December 10, in accordance with our bylaws (Article VI – Elections.)
Please note the important requirement that, in an anticipated absence of the leader of a union or organization, that leader may, by written authorization to the Recording Secretary, empower a member of his/her organization to vote in his/her behalf, provided that written authorization is provided on the union’s or organization's letterhead, signed by the leader, and notarized.
A comprehensive tentative convention agenda will be forthcoming within approximately one to two weeks.
